POLICE LOG for December 4: Church Nativity Scene Vandalized; Online Dating Scam

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Saturday, December 4, 2021:
  • Employee of Grace Chapel on West Street reported that bottles were broken in their parking lot sometime overnight and some bottles were thrown into the stable of the nativity scene on display. Caller wanted the incident logged and requested extra patrols, but did not wish to speak with an officer. Caller will provide security footage if incident was captured on cameras. (10:14am)
  • A Lawrence Street resident called to report an attempted scam via an online dating app. (2:12pm)
  • A caller reported there was a pitbull-type dog off-leash on the fields on Salem Street with its owner. Caller asked police to come speak with dog owner. Owner and dog were gone by the time police arrived. (6:48pm)
  • A caller reported a man and female were fighting inside a vehicle on Kilby Street. Female got out of the vehicle, was hitting the vehicle, and yelling about a stolen cell phone. Police responded, but vehicle and individuals were gone by the time police arrived. (11:28pm)
