WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Board of Selectmen meets this Monday, November 8, 2021 at 7pm in Room 9 of Town Hall.
There are some noteworthy items on the agenda, including:
- Wilmington Traffic Officer Daniel Furbush and Police Chief Joseph Desmond will discuss plans for the 2021 Santa Parade. Selectmen will consider approving their request.
- Wilmington Town Engineer Paul Alunni and Town Counsel Shirin Everett will discuss unaccepted ways.
- Selectmen will hold a public hearing and consider the request of an earth removal permit for work at 36-38 Upton Drive.
- Selectmen will receive an update on a Transformation Improvement Plan from Town Engineer Paul Alunni.
- Selectmen will receive an update on PFAS from Town Manager Jeff Hull.
- Selectmen will receive an update on revising the name “Board of Selectmen” to “Select Board.” Selectmen will consider revising the language.
- Selectmen will receive a proposal from Town Manager Jeff Hull on how to use American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
- Selectmen will receive an update from Town Manager Jeff Hull on the board’s upcoming tax classification hearing.
- Selectmen will receive an update from IT Director John O’Neill on the town being named a Cyber Security Community.
- Selectmen will receive an update on the Inhabitant Bylaw Review Committee from its Chair Robert Peterson, Jr.
- Selectmen will receive an update from Town Clerk Elizabeth Lawrenson on the approval of precinct changes from the 2020 US Census.
- Selectmen will receive an update from Town Manager Jeff Hull on his FY23 budget presentation plans.
- Selectmen will consider signing an ABCC licensing authority certificate relative to change in officers/directors of Super Target Liquor in Wilmington.
- Selectmen will consider the request of Veterans Services Director Lou Cimaglia to install a bench at Silver Lake and Main Street in honor of Robert Brown.
- Selectmen will consider the request of Wilmington Sons of Italy to use the Town Common parking lot on Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 9am to 1pm, for a Drive-By Annual Member’s Children’s Christmas Party.
An Executive Session — a closed-to-the-public portion of the meeting to discuss litigation relative to PFAS — is set for 6pm.
The meeting will be televised live on WCTV and www.wctv.org.
