POLICE LOG for October 9: Vehicle Fire On Highway; Signs Stolen; Dog Bite

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Saturday, October 9, 2021:
  • A 2-vehicle crash occurred at Shawsheen Avenue and Lake Street. No injuries. Police assisted with paperwork exchange. (1:37pm)
  • Animal Control Officer notified of dog bite on Middlesex Avenue. (2:05pm)
  • A caller reported a vehicle on the side of the highway facing the woodline. Caller was concerned. Police responded. State Police believed man may be hunting. Vehicle owner said he was hiking through the woods. (2:40pm)
  • Police assisted with a motor vehicle lockout at Sonny’s Mobil on the Run. (4:12pm)
  • Police received multiple calls of a vehicle fire on 93 South, prior to Exit 34. All parties were able to get out of vehicle, which was fully engulfed. Fire Department responded. Vehicle towed. (5:28pm)
  • A Woburn Street caller reported 2 “slow down” signs were taken from end of driveway around 8:25pm. (6:07pm)
  • Police issued a citation for parking in fire lane outside Market Basket. (7:01pm)
