Below is an announcement from the Wilmington Recreation Department:
WILMINGTON, MA — The last day to register for the fall session of the Vanta ESports League is next Thursday, September 16th.
Be part of a fun, safe, team-based learning environment and game with your peers. You will be led by seasoned instructors and work on strategy, technical skills and sportsmanship, while building your skills as individuals and as a team. This session they are offering two games, League of Legends and Rocket League.
- League of Legends (Ages 13 – 15): A 5v5 multiplayer Online Battle Arena game where teams work together to destroy the enemy base.
- Rocket League (Ages 9 – 15): A 3v3 competitive game of soccer, but you’re a car with a rocket booster.
Dates: September 20 – November 20, 9 weeks
Practices: Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 5:30 – 7 p.m. or 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Matches on Saturdays: League of Legends (2:30 – 3:30 p.m.), Rocket League (4 – 6 p.m.)
All practices and games will be played on Google Meet. Parent/guardian permission is required.
Tech Requirements:
Computer/laptop (no Chromebook) with:
- camera and microphone
- mouse
- internet connection with 20 mbps download speed
- Discord ID: must download prior to registration
- League username: must download game prior to registration
The cost to register is $135 per league, which includes nine weeks of practices and games!
