POLICE LOG for August 24: Customers Threaten Employees At K1 Speed; Car vs. Pole; Car Break-In Attempt

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Tuesday, August 24, 2021:
  • Police received multiple reports of an elderly man walking down the middle of the road on the yellow line. Last scene on Route 62 heading towards Burlington. Caller reported man walked into the Metro complex. Police responded. Man checked OK. (9:53am)
  • State Police handled 2-vehicle crash on 93 North, near Exit 34. Initially a hit and run, but second vehicle involved pulled over and called police. (10:08am)
  • A caller reported someone attempted to break into a vehicle at the Wilmington Plaza and damaged the lock. Owner of vehicle enroute to station to report it. (10:25am)
  • Animal Control Officer responded to injured bird on sidewalk near Market Basket. Bird appears stun. Officer to leave it and return later. (11:08am)
  • K1 Speed manager called to report 3 customers were acting aggressively towards staff and threatening to knock them out. Police responded and restored the peace. (4:39pm)
  • A car struck a pole on Shawsheen Avenue. Verizon and RMLD notified. Mailbox damaged. No injuries noted. Vehicle towed. (5:34pm)
