POLICE LOG for August 10: Scare At Silver Lake; Billerica Man Arrested On Warrant; Erratic Operators

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Tuesday, August 10, 2021:
  • A 2-vehicle crash with injuries occurred on 93 South. State Police handled scene. Fire Department responded. (8:14am)
  • A caller reported her husband lost his wallet. Wallet was left on back of vehicle driving from Tewksbury to Wilmington on Main Street. Tewksbury Police also notified. (8:33am)
  • A caller reported while out for a walk in the King Street/Kilby Street area, she heard an explosion and now smells some type of smoke. Power is out. RMLD notified and responded. (10:08am)
  • A caller reported an erratic operator southbound on Main Street from Tewksbury. Police pulled over operator. Operator checked OK and was driving a new car they were unfamiliar with. (12:32pm)
  • A party finishing at Town Beach say an orange buoy floating in the middle of Silver Lake and that is similar to what swimmers use, but he has not seen anyone swimming today and is concerned. Fire Department responded. The buoy was actually a life vest tied to a mooring. No issue. (4:30pm)
  • Police received 2 911 calls but were unable to understand caller other than asking for “Wilmington Police.” Upon fifth callback, caller answered and stated he was calling regarding an aggressive operator traveling on Route 62, tailgating others. Police responded but were unable to locate. (5:53pm)
  • Michael P. Arpin (33, Billerica) was arrested on warrant for Operating A Motor Vehicle With A Suspended License, No Inspection Sticker, and Marked Lanes Violation. (9:02pm)
