#1) Wilmington’s ‘On The Fence Players’ Presents Free Performances Of ‘Romeo & Juliet’
On The Fence Players, a Wilmington-based theatre company for Wilmington teens and young adults, will present a modern adaptation of “Romeo & Juliet” on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 2pm and 5:30pm outside the Wilmington United Methodist Church (87 Church Street).
Admission is free of charge. Audience members are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. The play is produced and directed by Julia Burke. The event’s rain date is Sunday, August 15, 2021.
On The Fence Players was founded in 2014 by Wilmington’s Nikk Tetreault. This is the company’s 8thth annual summer production.

#2) Online Raffle Fundraiser To Support Wilmington’s Jennifer Stewart’s Boston Marathon Run Ends TODAY
Wilmington nurse Jennifer Stewart is running the Boston Marathon this October to raise money for pediatric cancer research at Mass General Hospital.
To help raise funds, she is hosting an online raffle fundraiser with over 40 prizes worth more than $2,500.

The raffle drawings will be held on August 14, 2021.

#4) Wilmington Library Handing Out FREE DIY Oyster Mushroom Kits
The Wilmington Memorial Library will be handing out DIY Oyster Mushroom Kits so you can learn to grow mushrooms from 10am to 1pm! Available in the library’s foyer while supplies last. Refrigerate until ready to use. Because of potential contamination issues, the kit is for demonstration purposes and the mushrooms are not for consumption. Your kit will include instructions, cardboard, a plastic tenting bag, and Blue Oyster Mushroom Grain Spawn; you will provide rubbing alcohol, used coffee grounds, and a 16 oz plastic or glass bottle, and water.
