WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Wednesday, May 12, 2021:
#1) Watch Wilmington School Committee Meeting
The Wilmington School Committee meets at 7pm in the High School’s Large Instruction Room. Read the agenda HERE. Watch live on WCTV and wctv.org.
#2) Watch Wilmington Board Of Appeals Meeting
The Wilmington Board of Appeals meets at 7pm via Zoom. The agenda will be posted HERE.
#3) LIBRARY EVENT: Outdoor Time For Twos
This storytime for two year olds includes books, rhymes, music and movement. The program will be held behind the library next to the Peggy Kane Reading Garden. Please bring a blanket or low chairs. Masks are required for all attendees ages 5 and up and strongly encouraged for children ages 2-5. If inclement weather is forecast, the storytime may be held virtually ono Zoom. #4) LIBRARY EVENT: The 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s
This educational program, scheduled from 7pm to 8pm, is presented by Alzheimer’s Association and will help you recognize common signs of the disease in yourself and others, and includes next steps to take, including how to talk to your doctor. Presented by the Wilmington and Tewksbury Libraries. Register HERE.
#5) Wilmington Yardwaste Center Is Open
The Wilmington Yardwaste Center on Old Main Street is open from 8am to 2pm for the drop-off of leaves and brush.
Residents will need to purchase a punch-card for $15 in order to enter the yardwaste center. Punch-cards will be available for purchase through the Collector’s Office at Town Hall and will allow up to 5 vehicle trips to the yardwaste center per card. NO GRASS CLIPPINGS OR STUMPS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Commercial vehicles will not be allowed. Make sure to bring photo identification to show you are a Wilmington resident.
