POLICE LOG for April 7: Driver Issued Summons; “No Dogs Allowed” Sign Keeps Getting Stolen; Drugs Found In Old Freezer

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Wednesday, April 7, 2021:
  • Sovanikethia Koun (59, Lowell) was issued a summons for Unlicensed Operation Of A Motor Vehicle and No/Expired Inspection Sticker. (2:20am)
  • A walk-in party reported a scam phone call regarding the police union collecting donations. (7:12am)
  • Police assisted Fire Department with a brush fire started by a resident on Andover Street. (10:07am)
  • A caller reported 3 containers of nitrous oxide in the roadway on Hopkins Street and Dorchester Street. Police responded, retrieved tanks, and returned to owning company. (12:32pm)
  • Animal Control Officer reported the “No Dogs Allowed” sign at the North Intermediate School has been removed again. Officer requested extra patrols. (1:55pm)
  • A walk-in party reported finding drug paraphernalia and narcotics in an old freezer in an unoccupied property. (1:57pm)
  • A caller reported she was parked in the fire lane in front of Panera Bread waiting to curbside to go when a man approached her and yelled obscenities. Police responded. Argument was verbal in nature with no threats. Man had a handicap placard. He had a few choice words for woman parked in fire lane. Peace restored. (4:11pm)
