POLICE LOG for March 8: Box Truck On Fire; Squirrel Stuck In Fire Place; Mail Truck Breaks Down

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Monday, March 8, 2021:
  • Animal Control Officer responded to squirrel stuck in fire place on Oak Court. Squirrel was able to get out on his own. (9:22am)
  • Police and Fire received reports of a box truck on fire on 93 South, near Exit 39. Both occupants safely exited the vehicle. Truck is only smoking — no flames. Two lanes of traffic were closed. State Police handled scene. (11:31am)
  • A mail truck broke down at Woburn Street and Park Street. Mechanic is responding and vehicle will be towed. An additional mail truck is going to pick up all the mail. (1:19pm)
  • A walk-in party reported a man and woman were yelling at employees at Kirkwood Printing and taking photos of their trucks’ license plates. Police told party to notify police if they return. (2:41pm)
  • A Horseshoe Lane caller reported that her neighbor’s dog attacked her dog and was not on leash. No injuries. Animal Control Officer will follow up. (7:57pm)
