POLICE LOG for December 31: Wilmington Man Arrested For Alleged DUI On New Year’s Eve; Issues At Savers & CVS

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Thursday, December 31, 2020:
  • Police noted a large amount of donations left in front of Savers. Will follow up with store in the morning. (2:26am)
  • A CVS employee stated she had three shoplifters in the store. Police pulled vehicle over in front of old Walgreens. Parties were able to provide a receipt for items in possession. They were advised they were no longer welcome at the store. (4:07am)
  • Police received a 911 call by mistake. Caller was trying to call Turkey. (4:25pm)
  • A caller stated Pacific Grove was over capacity. Police responded. Crowd did not appear to be too large. Restaurant was advised of COVID-19 protocols and told to have people wait for take-out outside if necessary. (4:29pm)
  • A Chestnut Street caller reported a large bonfire and gun shot noises. Burlington Police confirmed firework complaints in their community. (9:07pm)
  • William Fredrick Doherty (68, Wilmington) was arrested for OUI Liquor; Negligent Operation Of A Motor Vehicle; and Marked Lanes Violation. (10:09pm)
