POLICE LOG for December 5: Car vs. Pedestrian; Hit & Run; Snow Storm Takes Down Trees & Power Lines

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Saturday, December 5, 2020:
  • Police notified DPW that a refrigerator was dumped at the entrance of Deming Way. (10:21am)
  • Police received a 911 by mistake from a cell phone on McDonald Road. Caller will receive assistance on how to use her new iPhone 12 phone. (2:27pm)
  • A hit and run occurred near Jimmy’s Garage in Woburn. Dodge pickup truck struck a vehicle and continued on northbound on Main Street. Police was able to locate vehicle in Wilmington and sent it back to Jimmy’s Garage. Woburn Police handled scene. (2:53pm)
  • A car struck a pedestrian on Church Street. Car took off towards Main Street and police were unable to locate. Caller refused medical attention. (4:48pm)
  • A caller reported a tree took a power line down on Nichols Street. Tree also struck house and power line was against a vehicle. RMLD, Verizon and Comcast were notified. (5:17pm)
  • Fire Department responded to possible transformer fire on top of pole on Grove Avenue. (8:05pm)
  • Town plow took knocked a mailbox down on Royal Street. DPW notified. (8:36pm)
