Below is a press release from the Wilmington Memorial Library promoting upcoming programs:
Library Service Changes Starting November 2
You will be able to visit the WML without an appointment to browse the first floor, pick up holds, use a computer with a 60 minute limit, and make a copy or use the fax machine starting on November 2nd. The library will be open for these services Monday – Thursday 10am – 6pm and Friday 10am – 4pm. Curbside pickup is still available with new hours: Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm. Appointments are still required to visit the Youth Services Department. All patrons must wear a mask and sanitize their hands upon arriving at the library.
Adult Programs
Intro to the Cloud
Wednesday, November 4 at 7pm
Learn about that mysterious Cloud. Technology Librarian Brad McKenna will discuss such cloud-based technologies as email, file storage, music/movie streaming, and more.
Pints + Pages Book Group
Thursday, November 5 at 7pm
A social book group geared towards readers in their 20’s and 30’s. The book discussion will be hosted by librarians from the Wilmington and Reading Public Libraries. This month’s featured bookis Writers & Lovers by Lily King.
Fiction Critique Group
Saturday, November 7 at 9:15am
Love writing fiction? Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining our Critique Group is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. Open to all experience levels writing in all genres. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras.
One on One Virtual Tech Help with Brad
Tuesdays at 10 am
If you are having an issue with a piece of technology or have some questions about something before you go out and buy it, register for a one-on-one session with Technology Librarian, Brad McKenna.

Kids Vote! 2020 Children’s Book Election
Ongoing Until Election Day
While adults get to vote for who leads our country, you get to vote for who leads the Children’s Room! Place your vote for the best children’s books one of two ways! Visit the children’s room at the library by appointment, vote by ballot in our voting booth, and get a sticker or a pin! Kids will enjoy this great opportunity to participate in their own democracy and experience the polls! The other way to participate is to vote through our Google Form, which can be found on our website under Voter Resources.
Outdoor Halloween Event
Saturday, October 31 at 2pm, 2:30pm, and 3pm
Hey you monsters, witches, ghosts, and ghouls! Register now to join us on the library lawn. Wear your costumes or come just as you are to this socially distanced Halloween Event! Pick up a goody bag with treats, take a photo in front of our bubbling cauldron backdrop, dance with your family to the Monster Mash and other Halloween tunes, and browse for books! Sign up for one half an hour session to join us in the fun! For ages 0-12.
Preschool Storytime
Tuesday, November 3at 10am
This storytime for preschoolers includes books, rhymes, and music. Ages 3-5
Time for Twos
Wednesday, November 4at 10am
This storytime for two year olds includes books, rhymes, music and movement.
Dungeons & Dragons
Saturday, November 7 at 10am
Interested in finding out more about this fantasy tabletop role-playing game, or looking for a group to play with? Join DM Michaela for a virtual campaign via Zoom(or Google Hangouts) every month! Grades 6-8
Friends of the Library
Book Store Next Door Outside Sale
Saturday, November 7 from 10am – 2pm
The Friends of the Library Book Store Next Door will be open Saturday, November 7 for an outside sale from 10 am to 2 pm. Customers will have limited access inside the Book Store. One bag or one box of donations will be accepted during the sale hours. All proceeds benefit WML.
