POLICE LOG for October 2: Tree Fire; Mountain Bike Stolen; Purse Snatched; Irate Customer At Gas Station

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Friday, October 2, 2020:
  • Fire Department responded to report of tree on fire due to electrical wires on Mill Road. Reading Municipal Light Department restored power. (7:21am)
  • Residents on Miller Road, Carolyn Road, Park Street and Apache Away reported  unemployment scams. (10:01am-11:09am)
  • A caller reported his brother smashes tools and a barrel at his residence and then drove off. Caller was worried about his well-being. Police stopped vehicle on Salem Street and spoke with brother. Police also spoke with caller. (2:07pm)
  • Vehicle struck a guardrail on 93 South, prior to Exit 40. (3:31pm)
  • A mountain bike was reported stolen from Pilling Road. (4:21pm)
  • A caller reported an irate customer at Sonny’s Mobil on the Run. 2nd caller reporting clerk is refusing to sell him a product due to his license being expired. (6:35pm)
  • A walk-in reported she was involved in a purse snatching incident in Methuen. Stolen phone is current pinging on Andover Street. (7:07pm)
