POLICE LOG for August 28: Police Prevent Phone Scam; Highway Crash; Dog Locked In Vehicle

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Friday, August 28, 2020:
  • A caller reported a man was sleeping in the dugout area of Rotary Park. Man checked OK. He was relaxing and enjoying the weather. (9:22am)
  • An Elwood Road resident reported unemployment fraud. (10:01am)
  • Police assisted with a motor vehicle lockout, with a dog inside, at Deming Way. (11:47am)
  • A Town Hall employee reported an elderly woman on the phone was requesting a cab ride to the bank due to a “young person being in trouble.” Police spoke with caller and advised her how to avoid scam phone calls. (1:37pm)
  • State Police and Fire Department handled 1-vehicle crash on 93 South between Exit 41 and 42. (10:53pm)
