POLICE LOG for August 7: OUI Arrest After Crash In Simard’s Drive-Thru; Drug Charge; 2 Drivers Issued Summonses

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Friday, August 7, 2020:
  • Joao Victor Sousa DaSilva (18, Maynard) was arrested for Unlicensed Operation Of Motor Vehicle and Speeding. DaSilva was pulled over on Salem Street. (7:08am)
  • A Burt Road resident reported a hit and run with property damage. It appeared a large truck struck the street sign, no through sign, branches and a telephone. Tree Department, Verizon and RMLD notified. (8:07am)
  • Animal Control Officer followed up complaints of a Hathaway Road resident trapping and animals. He was advised to cease and desist. (9:45am)
  • A caller reported concerns over social distancing with large amount of people at Yentile Farm. Police advised individuals to wear masks and social distance. (11:26am)
  • Police received report of an odor coming from a backyard on Lexington Street. Animal Control Officer responded. Residents admitted to having chickens. He told them to get a permit from the Board of Health by Wednesday, August 12. He told the owners to keep the coop clean and ensure chickens had food and water. (1:09pm)
  • A caller reported an injured cat in her yard on Middlesex Avenue. It appeared cat was struck by a vehicle. Animal Control Officer took cat to Mass Vet. (3:24pm)
  • Shiv J. Patel (19, Wilmington) was issued a summons for Unlicensed Operation Of Motor Vehicle, Marked Lanes Violation, Failure To Stop/Yield, and Speeding. Patel struck a pole on Middlesex Avenue. (4:23pm)
  • Thomas S. Hrynowski (29, Wakefield) was arrested for OUI Liquor and Negligent Operation Of Motor Vehicle. Hrynowski was involved in a crash in the Simard’s Drive-Thru. (9:41pm)
  • Antonios N. Raptis (37, Everett) was issued a summons for Possession of a Class B Drug. Raptis was pulled over on Salem Street after vehicle he was traveling in side-swiped a pole. (11:54pm)
