POLICE LOG for July 25: Fireworks Shot Off In Middle Of Silver Lake; Combative Woman; Graffiti On Sign

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Saturday, July 25, 2020:
  • Fire Department responded to a combative woman in the roadway on West Street. Police drove her to the police station, where she was picked up. (2:51am)
  • A man came into the station and reported he found a license plate on Route 62. Police contacted the Lexington Police Department, who will contact the vehicle’s owner. (6:27am)
  • Police notified Mass Highway of graffiti on the back of the sign on the Woburn Street overpass. (8:00am)
  • A Marion Street caller reported finding a baby bird on her walk and brought it home. Requested assistance. (9:42am)
  • A 2-vehicle crash occurred at Pleasant Road and Middlesex Avenue. One operator was transported to Lahey by the Fire Department. (11:07am)
  • Police notified Keolis of train gates coming up and down on Concord Street with no trains in sight. (4:12pm)
  • Wilmington Police assisted Tewksbury Police with a possible hostage situation in their town. Situation checked OK. Resident said he had been receiving threats stemming from his radio show.  (6:35pm)
  • A caller reported fireworks were being set off on Lake Street. Police responded. Person on barge in middle of Silver Lake was shooting off the fireworks. Police advised him it was illegal to do so. (8:27pm)
