POLICE LOG for July 8: Wilmington Man Arrested For OUI; Wilmington Woman Summonsed For Shoplifting At Market Basket

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Wednesday, July 8, 2020:
  • Kymberly Mari Hewett (53, Salem, NH) was arrested for OUI Liquor, Unlicensed Operation Of Motor Vehicle, Operating A Motor Vehicle With A Revoked Registration, and Uninsured Motor vehicle. Hewett was pulled over at Dunkin Donuts on Lowell Street. (1:22am)
  • Fire Department responded to a car fire at A&S Towing on Andover Street. (1:25am)
  • A Manning Street caller reported a baby bird fell out of its next. Animal Control Officer was able to create a makeshift nest and place baby bird safely into nest. (9:30am)
  • Animal Control Officer brought injured blue jay to rehab facility in Gloucester. (10:10am)
  • Animal Control Officer freed bird stuck in chimney on Corey Avenue. (12:53pm)
  • Woburn Street School reported injured seagull. Animal Control Officer unable to locate. (12:55pm)
  • Animal Control Officer checked on possible injured bird on Carter Lane. Bird was not injured, just learning how to fly. (1:01pm)
  • A caller reported a man appeared to be drinking beer while driving on Route 62. Police unable to locate. (2:27pm)
  • Police was flagged down by motorist that kids were on the railroad tracks near Lake Street. Police advised three girls to stay off the tracks. (5:54pm)
  • Julia O’Brien (39, Wilmington) was issued a summons for Shoplifting by Asportation and Trespass. Market Basket reported shoplifter stole approximately $50 worth of merchandise. O’Brien paid for items prior to police arrival. She was trespassed from the store. Market Basket provided video of the shoplifting. (8:19pm)
  • Brett Parrott (21, Wilmington) was arrested for OUI Liquor, Marked Lanes Violation, Negligent Operation Of Motor Vehicle, License Not In Possession, and Open Container Of Marijuana In Vehicle. Parrott struck a RMLD pole on Forest Street. (11:12pm)
