WILMINGTON, MA — Watch the latest episode of “Talk of the Town” with WCTV’s Lisa Kapala featuring quick, feel-good stories from around town.
In this episode, Kapala interviews retired Wilmington Police Chief and 2014 Wilmington Good Guy Award winner Bernie Nally, who has volunteered with the Friendship Lodge (Masons) for the past 12 years. Nally discusses the Lodge’s wheelchair ramp loan program.
Friendship Lodge installs wheelchair ramps on loan, for free, on a case-by-case basis. The Lodge currently owns over 50 ramps, almost all of which are out on loan in Wilmington and the greater Wilmington area. All the ramps come to the Lodge from donations of people who no longer need them. If you have a ramp you want to donate, please contact the Lodge. Nally’s ramp crew will come disassemble and remove the ramp.
Friendship Lodge also loans out hospital equipment for free, including hospital beds, wheelchairs, shower chairs, and porta potties.
If you are in need of a wheelchair ramp or hospital equipment, call the Friendship Lodge at 978-658-6731 and leave a message.
