POLICE LOG for June 1: Porch Fire; WPD Provides Mutual Aid For Boston & Andover Protests; Unemployment Scam

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Monday, June 1, 2020:
  • Police came across suspicious activity at Silver Lake. Resident was doing some late night fishing. (1:09am)
  • Police and fire responded to a porch fire on Cunningham Street. Off-duty police officer extinguished the fire prior to police & firefighter arrival. (7:52am)
  • Police assisted with traffic related to school meal pickups at high school. (9:25am)
  • Police assisted with traffic related to mask distribution at Town Hall. (10:00am)
  • Animal Control Officer assembled a nest for a displaced bird on Cushing Drive. (12:48pm)
  • Caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the Wonder Years parking lot on Lowell Street. Caller stated driver told him he was a private investigator. Police responded and confirmed. Driver was told of proper procedure for notifying police. (1:26pm)
  • Police was called out to Boston to provide mutual aid. (2:13pm)
  • Polie was called out to Andover to provide mutual aid. (2:30pm)
  • A walk-in party reported someone falsely claimed unemployment in her name. (2:35pm)
  • Fire Department responded to mulch fire on Market Basket. (5:06pm)
  • A caller reported her parked vehicle was side-swiped while in the Market Basket parking lot. (6:28pm)
