3 Things To Know In Wilmington On Saturday, June 6, 2020

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 3 things to know in Wilmington on Saturday, June 6, 2020:

#1) Cheer On Wilmington High Seniors During Their Car Parade

We’re One Wilmington (WOW) is organizing a car parade this Saturday, June 6, 2020, beginning at 2PM from the student parking lot at the Wilmington High School.

The parade route will be from the student parking lot at the high school, up Middlesex Ave. following Route 62 towards the Middle School. The parade will loop around at the middle school and return on the same route.

Spectators are encouraged to make signs and show support for the seniors while respecting social distancing and wearing masks. They may line the parade route at Middlesex Ave./Route 62, Boutwell St., and Carter Lane on both sides of street.

#2) Wave To The Parade Of Antique Cars Honoring D-Day

This Saturday, June 6, 2020, D-Day will be “DRIVEN TO HONOR” our fallen heroes and honor the 76th Anniversary of the D-Day invasion. Watch for a parade of antique cars meeting at the Fourth of July Building at 10:00 AM. They will be driving past all of Wilmington’s fallen heroes squares and monuments around town. Please feel free to wave and fly the American flag as they pass by.

#3) Wilmington Library To Host Writing Group Meeting

Love writing fiction? Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Critique Group, which meets on the first Saturday of the month at 9:15am. This is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials before the meeting. Open to all experience levels writing in all genres. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras. If you are interested in attending this event, please email Assistant Director Charlotte Wood at cwood@wilmlibrary.org.  Please include the title of the program in the subject heading.  This event will be held over Zoom.  You will receive an invite from the presenter prior to the program date.
