POLICE LOG for May 28: Complaints Over Employees Not Wearing Masks; Driver Issued Summons; Angry Customer At Dollar Store

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Thursday, May 28, 2020:
  • A caller stated a black male was waving down vehicles attempting to get a ride on Ballardvale Street. Police responded and spoke with man, who checked out. Man is going to return to place of employment and seek a ride back to Lynn. (1:33am)
  • A caller reported she backed into another vehicle in the Target parking lot while moving out of the way of a delivery truck backing up. Police responded. One vehicle left prior to arrival. Police assisted with paperwork exchange. Very minor damage. (8:16am)
  • Police reported a vehicle abandoned on Middlesex Avenue for over a month. Owner lives in Derry, New Hampshire. Derry Police will attempt to contact owner. (9:27am)
  • Animal Control Officer removed a deceased turkey from Carter Lane. (12:18pm)
  • Callers reported a heavyset gray haired man yelling at employees at Dollar Street. Police responded and restored the peace. (12:28pm)
  • Stephen P. Staite (40, Lowell) was issued a summons for No Or Expired Inspection/Sticker and Operating A Motor Vehicle With Suspended License. (2:22pm)
  • A party flagged down police on Ballardvale Street to complain that employees at Crispy Crunch Chicken was not wearing masks while serving food. Party was advised to contact Board of Health. Police stopped into business and made employees aware of complaint. (3:31pm)
  • Police sent a large group of youths at the Skate Park on their way. (4:55pm)
  • Vehicle struck a dog near Jimmy’s Garage on Main Street. (5:00pm)
