#2) Make A Contribution To The Library’s COVID-19 Scrapbook
The COVID-19 pandemic is an historic event in our lives. Collecting and archiving local history is an important part of the library’s mission. To that end, the Wilmington Memorial Library would like to document your experience with this pandemic for future generations. Library staff invites you to share your thoughts and how you are coping during this unprecedented time. Please complete the COVD-19 Digital Scrapbook form. The information you provide will be archived and may be used on social media or a future library display. Stay safe and healthy.
Click Kid Digital Scrapbook to print out a copy and have your kids record their memories. When they’re done, and if you can, scan the finished sheets and email them to tech@wilmlibrary.org to have them stored in our digital archive. If you can’t scan, bring them in to the library when we re-open and we’ll do it for you.
#3) ICYMI: Wilmington Public Schools Annual Art Show
The Wilmington Public Schools Department of Visual Arts launched its Annual Art Show — virtually — on Friday, May 29, 2020. Galleries are available online in a slide show format that you be able to view from any device at your leisure. Though in-classroom time was limited second semester, the department was able to gather work from the first semester students as well as some of the great creations done at-home during remote-learning time.
The show begins with a visual message from elementary students showing how it is more important than ever to find ways to connect with one another in the time of social distancing through “The virtual heART quilt”. This gave students an opportunity to create a collaborative art piece representing their spirit, strength, and compassion. The following slides showcase the great artwork by our middle and high school artists.
While there will be no cookies and punch this year, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful work from our students which will help lift your spirits and quench your taste buds for their creativity.
The show can be accessed through the Wilmington Public Schools website at www.WPSK12.com or directly at https://bit.ly/3g6Bgmb.
