Below is a press release from the Wilmington-based Spectra Medical Devices:

WILMINGOTN, MA — Spectra Medical Devices, of Wilmington, recently donated lunch and flowers to all 350 veteran residents and healthcare workers at the soldiers’ home in Chelsea in honor of Memorial Day and the late Lawrence N. Larsen of Winthrop.

“Lawrence Larsen was a decorated World War II U.S. Navy veteran, as well as an exceptional person who did a lot for his community and for his fellow man,” emphasized Tony Arrigo, CEO of Spectra Medical Devices.

Company Senior Vice-President Joyce Arrigo has spearheaded Spectra Medical Devices efforts to donate lunch from Spinelli’s in East Boston and flowers to Massachusetts Hospitals as long as the COVID-19 pandemic lasts.

“As a former nurse myself and having been born and raised in Chelsea, I feel a special bond for the Veterans, including my owner father, his brothers, and the heroic healthcare workers on the frontlines who perform vitally important duties for their patients and in doing so put their own lives at-risk during the COVID-19 global crisis. It’s my hope that this gesture lets them know, now more than ever, that they have our deep gratitude and respect, especially on Memorial Day,” said Joyce Arrigo.
