Wilmington Educational Foundation Awards 9 Educators With Curriculum Grants

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Educational Foundation recently donated $5,204.70 to the school district in the form of seven Curriculum Grants that are designed to encourage, support and enable creative and innovative educational initiates.

Congratulation to this year’s recipients:

  • Terresa Pietro & Joanne Veliz received $1,200 for their Afro Caribbean Workshop project at Wilmington High School.
  • Deanne England and Isabella Gallant received $749.83 for their Flexible Seating project at the Wildwood Early Childhood Center.
  • Lisa King received $400 for her Relationship Mentoring Resource Material Center at the Shawsheen Elementary School. King also received $500 for her Summer Reading Boast Packs initiative.
  • Ashley Rokobaeur received $549 for her Teaching to the Standards Science Curriculum at Wilmington High School.
  • Heather Peachey and Michelle Kurchian received $840.37 for their Diversity in Narrative Nonfiction project at the North & West Intermediate Schools.
  • Robyn Barry received $965.50 for her Ukeleles in the Music Rooms project at the West Intermediate School.

The Wilmington School Committee formally accepted these 7 grants at Wednesday night’s meeting.
