SELECTMEN To Discuss COVID-19, Mask Donations, Proposed Apartments, Annual Town Meeting & More On May 11

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Board of Selectmen meets this Monday, May 11, 2020 at 7pm. The meeting will take place online and shown live on WCTV (Channel 9 on Comcast and Channel 37 on Verizon) at http://www.wctv.org. There are some noteworthy items on the agenda, including:

  • Selectmen will receive an update from Town Health Director Shelley Newhouse and Fire Chief Bill Cavanaugh on the town’s COVID-19 response.
  • Selectmen will acknowledge and thank Scott, Dylan and Jack McLeod for their recent donation of masks to the Wilmington Police Department.
  • Selectmen will discuss the criteria for local preference relative to the proposed Princeton Properties apartment complex on Jefferson Road. Selectmen will hear a presentation from Town Planning Director Valerie Gingirch and then make a recommendation to the Board of Appeals on the matter.
  • Selectmen will receive an update from Town Manager Jeff Hull on legislation relative to Town Meeting Quorums.
  • Selectmen will receive an update from Hull on a potential water line to Cook Avenue.
  • Selectmen will receive an update on the Town’s Yard Waste Drop-Off Center.
  • Selectmen will receive an update on the Town Beach summer 2020 season.
  • Selectmen will receive an update on the Town’s Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony.
  • Selectmen will receive an update on the recruitment of election workers for upcoming elections.
  • Selectmen will receive an update from the DPW on the town’s vegetation management plan.
  • Selectmen will consider signing the warrant for the 2020 Annual Town Meeting.
  • Selectmen will consider a request to light the Town Common red, white and blue.
  • Selectmen will consider establishing an electronic signature policy.
  • Selectmen will make an appointment to the Town’s Scholarship Committee to fill a vacancy.
  • Selectmen will consider requests from two school employees to also be allowed to also work for the town’s Recreation Department this summer.
