POLICE LOG for May 6: Man In Trouble For Handling Of Gun; Dog Left Inside Vehicle On Warm Day; Stolen Boat?

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Wednesday, May 6, 2020:
  • Burlington Police reported kids in the woods on Green Meadow Drive. Police were unable to locate. (2:56am)
  • Nicholas William Aalerud (38, North Andover) was issued a summons for improper storage of a firearm. Avalon Oaks manager reported an apartment was vacated and a handgun was left behind in a backpack in one of the closets. (9:34am)
  • A caller at Cam’s Disposal on Jewel Drive reported the company received an email that all of its files were bing held ransom. (10:14am)
  • Animal Control Officer followed up with owner of pitbull who was left inside a vehicle in Market Basket parking lot and panting. Officer received two different calls over the matter. (12:35pm)
  • A 2-vehicle crash occurred on 93 North, prior to Exit 40. Fire Department transported one occupant to Lahey. (2:09pm)
  • A caller reported a boat he was storing at a Dorothy Avenue home is missing. Police responded. Owner stated boat was gone for a few days. Police took pictures of the area and believed it was evident the boat had been recently dragged away. (7:17pm)
