COVID-19 UPDATE: Wilmington’s Cases OUTSIDE Nursing Homes GO UP BY 10 In 2 Days; State Numbers “Not A Good Sign”

WILMINGTON, MA — According to numbers released by Wilmington Health Director Shelly Newhouse on Wednesday evening, Wilmington has 30 active cases of COVID-19 outside of nursing homes and assisted living facilities. That’s an increase of 9 cases (21 to 30) since Monday’s update.

An additional 9 residents are currently quarantined. That’s an increase of 5 quarantines (4 to 9) since Monday’s update.

Wilmington’s nursing homes and assisted living facilities remain the hardest hit. CareOne remains at 39 active cases (same as Monday) and has recently seen another resident pass away due to COVID-19 complications. Windsor Place has 16 active cases (up 1 from Monday) and has recently seen two COVID-19-related deaths.

Excluding AdviniaCare, which has become a COVID-19 recovery center and is accepting patients from hospitals, Wilmington has a grand total of 85 active cases, representing an increase of 10 cases (75 to 85) since Monday’s update.

“The numbers of positives have gone up throughout the State over the past few days,” warned Newhouse in her latest update. “Not a good sign.”
