POLICE LOG for April 29: Hit & Run In Market Basket Lot; Bicyclist Nearly Struck; Nails Spilled In Roadway

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Wednesday, April 29, 2020:
  • A caller reported her parked vehicle was struck yesterday in the Market Basket parking lot. Police tracked down responsible party and facilitated paperwork exchange. (8:51am)
  • A caller reported a vehicle almost struck a bicyclist in the crosswalk on Clark Street. When caller pointed out the incident to the driver, driver had words and gave caller the middle finger. Driver pulled into Nick’s Pizza. Police spoke with driver, who checked OK. (1:29pm)
  • Police notified it appeared a box of nails was spilled all over the roadway on Clark Street.  Caller picked up most of the nails. Police contacted DPW. (2:15pm)
  • Animal Control Officer removed a deceased hawk from Chestnut Street. (2:48pm)
  • Police assisted with a motor vehicle lockout at Town Beach. (8:25pm)
  • State Police and Fire Department responded to a 2-vehicle crash on 93 North, north of Exit 41. (9:53pm)
  • Police was out with a woman outside yelling near the North Wilmington train station. Police gave woman a ride back to the station to arrange for a ride. (10:54pm)
