WILMINGTON, MA — At Wednesday night’s School Committee Meeting, Superintendent Dr. Glenn Brand announced the four “pre-finalists” for the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Staff Development by providing the following bios to the board members:
Adam Colantuoni
Mr. Adam Colantuoni is currently the Principal of Galvin Middle School in Wakefield, Massachusetts where he has served since 2015. Additional leadership experience includes serving as the Principal of Hanover Middle School in Hanover, Massachusetts (2013 – 2015), Assistant Principal at Galvin Middle School in Wakefield, Massachusetts (2010 – 2013), as well as Guidance Counselor/Assistant Principal in Tewksbury, Massachusetts (2003 – June 2010). Mr. Colantuoni has served as part of an instructional leadership team for several years where he has established and implemented district instructional strategies and practices. In addition, Mr. Colantuoni has assisted with facilitating curriculum review cycles and professional development standards, implementing a Student Led Curriculum Showcase Night, Distance Learn Anywhere project and an Advisory program to support social and emotional learning.
Mr. Colantuoni completed the School Leadership Academy at Merrimack Education Center in Billerica, MA in 2009, holds a Masters in School Counseling from Lesley University, Cambridge, MA and holds two Bachelor degrees, Psychology and Sociology, from Merrimack College, North Andover, MA.
Christine Elliott
Ms. Christine Elliott is currently the Director of Curriculum for the Tri‐Town (Boxford, Middleton and Topsfield, Massachusetts) School Union where she has served in this role since 2010. In this role, Ms. Elliott is a member of the district leadership team, working collaboratively to support the education of elementary students in the towns of Boxford, Middleton, and Topsfield. In addition Ms. Elliott held the position of English Language Arts/Social Studies Instructional Support Specialist (2007 – 2010) for the Boxford Elementary Schools, as well as a Reading Specialist at Tri‐Town School Union – Topsfield,
Massachusetts (1996 – 2007). In addition, Ms. Elliott has held the role of Adjunct Professor at University of New England, Merrimack College and Salem State College. Ms. Elliott has a strong background in curriculum and instruction, has played a key role in developing professional development and most recently focused on social‐emotional learning, inclusive practices, and innovative teaching practices. In addition, Ms. Elliott currently writes and administers annual entitlement grants; Title I, Title II‐A, and Title IV‐A.
Ms. Elliott holds a Masters of Education in Reading and Language from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, MA and holds Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Bridgewater State College, Bridgewater, MA.
Rebecca Hyde
Ms. Rebecca Hyde is currently the Assistant Director Statewide System of Support at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Malden, Massachusetts. In the role of Assistant Director Statewide System of Support Ms. Hyde is responsible for leading elementary, middle, and high schools with establishing visions, plans, and implementation in order to improve teaching and learning. Ms. Hyde is, also, responsible for coaching district leadership teams and school instructional leadership teams in order to develop a shared leadership approach that support sschools, as well as managing district and partner relationships with vendors to align resources and support school plans. In addition, Ms. Hyde has held the role of District/Assistance Lead for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Malden, Massachusetts (2016 – 2019), Principal, Lawrence, Massachusetts (2013 –
2016), Language and Literacy Coordinator (PreK‐4), Lowell Public Schools (2012 – 2013), Lowell, Massachusetts and Literacy Specialist (2007 – 2013), Lowell, Massachusetts. Ms.
Hyde holds a Master’s of Education and Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Rivier College, Nashua, New Hampshire. In addition, Ms. Hyde is currently working on her Ph.D. at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts.
Sarah Hardy
Ms. Sarah Hardy is currently the Principal of Colonial Park School in Stoneham, Massachusetts where she has served since 2014. Additional leadership experience includes serving as the Principal of South School in Stoneham, Massachusetts (2010 – 2014), and Principal Designee at the South Row School in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Ms. Hardy has served as part of an instructional leadership team for several years playing an active role at the district level. Planning and implementing district‐wide projects and initiatives to include leading the Educational Support Personnel (ESP) Evaluation Review Committee, curriculum pilots, and strategic planning groups. In addition, Ms. Elliott has focused on creating rigorous academic programs with appropriate intervention supports, as well as the social and emotional growth of the students and inclusive practices.
Ms. Hardy holds a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from the University of Lowell, Lowell, Massachusetts, a Master’s of Education from the University of Lowell, Lowell, Massachusetts in Curriculum and Instruction and Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from Rivier College, Nashua, New Hampshire.

The school district will hold community forums for residents and parents via Zoom this Thursday, April 30, 2020 and Friday, May 1, 2020.
