WILMINGTON, MA — Our 10th and Final (Virtual) 5K Run for Wilmington + Kim Forte Walk kicks off this Sunday, April 19 and runs through April 26! It’s a unique time and challenging one to execute a race. That said, there has never been a bigger need to come together as a community (albeit, virtually) to support those among us who are struggling both emotionally and financially. Thanks to the support of our members (you!) we have been able to buy groceries for several families in need during this pandemic. We also have members who have made cards for our seniors and others who have lost loved ones, sewn masks for the elderly, and become phone buddies to seniors who are struggling through extreme isolation. THANK YOU!! The need will surely continue to rise over the next few months.
We’ve got several things planned to make this race a fun distraction to what is happening in the world – while giving folks a chance to continue to do good for our community. Registered participants will be eligible to win one of the many prizes we have planned (more on that after the race kicks off) – as well as receive our 10th anniversary race shirt! We will be putting together a virtual opening ceremony and Two Cousins Karaoke & DJ is helping us with a special Spotify playlist. It may be virtual but it will still be fun!
