WILMINGTON, MA — On Tuesday, Boston Globe Magazine published its annual “Top spots to live in Greater Boston” list. Wilmington was one of the six communities North of Boston to make the cut, and ranked #2 in its category.
The Globe came up with its rankings by studying the median home prices from 2014 to 2019 to find the biggest five-year gains across three different price tiers: under $500,000; $500,000 to $750,000; and over $750,000.
In the $500,000 to $750,000 category, Wilmington trailed only Medford in 5-year home price gains. Wilmington’s 2019 median single-family home price was $530,000, which represented a 47.3% increase from 2014.
Wilmington was also highlighted for its easy access to Boston with four exits off Route 93 and two commuter rail stations to North Station.
