POLICE LOG for April 10: Police Called On Easter Bunny?; Baby Possums Rescued

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Friday, April 10, 2020:
  • Police spoke with a Burlington Avenue resident about pumping water into the roadway. (12:55am)
  • Police cruiser involved in a minor 2-vehicle crash at Target. No injuries. Cruiser was leaking fluid. DPW notified for clean-up. Cruiser towed. (8:26am)
  • Police enroute to Floral Dreams due to report of party handing out items in the parking lot. Checked OK. Nothing was being given out. (10:19am) [Editor’s Note: The Easter Bunny was holding a drive-by event in the Floral Dreams lot from 10am to noon.]
  • A caller reported a deceased possum in a Lowell Street parking lot, with young possums still there. Animal Control Officer brought young possums to Newhouse Wildlife Rescue of Chelmsford. (1:35pm)
  • A Cottage Street resident reported an attempted phone scam, saying her grandson was arrested and needed money for bail. (4:40pm)
