POSITIVE NEWS: Wilmington Family Organizes Town-Wide Easter Bunny Parade For This Sunday, April 12

WILMINGTON, MA — The McAndrew family of Wilmington has organized an Easter Bunny Parade this Sunday, April 12 — Easter Sunday — beginning around 1pm.

“This is NOT a town-organized event,” wrote Patty McAndrew in the town’s Facebook Community Board Group. “Just trying to, as a family, spread a little joy around to our family and our community.”

The parade route is as follows:

  • Begin on Cottage Street around 1pm on Sunday
  • Cottage St take left on to Main Left onto Lake St
  • Left onto Warren Left onto Wightman Left onto Albert
  • Left onto Dudley Right onto Warren Left onto Lake
  • Go through lights turn right into Shawsheen parking lot
  • Turn Left onto 129 (out of shawsheen parking lot)
  • Turn Right onto Grace Turn Left onto Melody
  • Turn Left onto 129 Turn Left onto Nichols
  • Turn Left onto FairmeadowTurn Right onto Nichols
  • Turn Left onto 129 At lights turn Left Lake
  • Turn Right onto Grove At lights turn Left onto Main
  • Turn Right onto Glen Turn Left on Faulkner
  • Turn Right on Everett Turn Left onto Cunningham
  • At stop sign turn Left onto Salem
  • Turn right on McDonald Continue all the way on McDonald to cuddle sac
  • Turn Left onto Salem
  • Turn Right onto Ring Turn Left onto Biggar
  • Turn Right onto Salem
  • Turn Left onto Salem near north intermediate
  • Turn around in North intermediate(back parking lot)
  • Turn Right out of parking lot back onto Salem St too Middlesex St
  • At set of lights go straight through to High St
  • Turn Right into Woburn St School (Bottom Lot)
  • Turn Right onto Woburn St
  • At set of lights continue straight across onto Woburn St
  • Turn Right onto Federal St
  • Turn Left onto Middlesex Ave (at the set of lights)
  • Continue on Middlesex through 2 sets of lights.
  • Bare Right at fork pull into parking lot next to 4th of July Building, where Easter Bunny heads home from

“We did the best we could to make a route that makes sense for us and makes it easy and safe for people to see the bunny from all over town,” added McAndrew. “We hope to see lots of kids and families out to wave to the bunny.”

The organizers remind all onlookers to practice social distancing at all times in order to remain safe and healthy.
