POLICE LOG for April 7: What’s That SMELL?!? What’s That NOISE?!?

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Tuesday, April 7, 2020:
  • Police received a 911 hangup. Runner was trying to change volume on his phone and dialed 911 by accident. (11:31am)
  • Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Burlington Avenue. (1:10pm)
  • A caller reported individuals using the field at Yentile Farm Recreational Facility. Police responded, but no one was on the field. (4:36pm)
  • Police received report of an erratic driver on Lowell Street, swerving and nearly striking vehicles. Police pulled vehicle over. Driver passed a PBT and said she was just exhausted from overworking herself. Husband came to pick her up. She was given a verbal warning for marked lanes violation. (5:36pm)
  • Police received report of a quad riding on roadway in area of Molloy Road and Laurel Avenue. Police responded and no quad observed. (7:44pm)
  • A Cedarcrest Road caller reported an odor coming from the street. Caller was unsure if the smell was from a skunk in the area or gas. Police responded. Odor was from a skunk. All clear. (11:05pm)
  • A Salem Street reported being woken by a loud noise described as “an explosion.” Police checked the area. Unfounded. (11:33pm)
