POLICE LOG for April 6: Police Enforce Park & Beach Closures; Driver Cited For Marijuana; Argument Between Co-Workers

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Monday, April 6, 2020:
  • Police responded to a small scuffle between employees at Meineke Muffler on Main Street. (11:03am)
  • Police notified Amtrac that train gate arm was stuck going up and down on Clark Street. (1:07pm)
  • Police told multiple parties to move along at Town Beach. DPW was notified regarding putting closed signs out at the beach. (1:54pm)
  • A caller reported two children were on the swings at Yentile Farm Recreational Facility, which is closed. Police responded. No one was seen on swings, but people walking the track were told they had to leave. (2:55pm)
  • 2-vehicle crash on Middleesex Avenue. Vehicles towed. Injuries noted. (2:35pm)
  • Police checked on a gathering in the Fourth of July Building’s parking lot. 15 youths were in a circle in their vehicles, maintaining proper social distancing. They were sent on their way. (5:31pm)
  • Police pulled over a vehicle possible erratic driving. Operator was cited for marked lanes and open container (marijuana). Field sobriety test administered road side. (6:31pm)
  • A caller stated someone dropped off a bag filled with gloves and masks. Police advised caller to keep or dispose of. (7:55pm)
