POLICE LOG for March 28: Wilmington Man Arrested For OUI (Liquor & Drugs) After Found Asleep At Wheel

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Saturday, March 28, 2020:
  • Police came across activity at the Casa Blanca Restaurant on Main Street. Employee from another Casa Blanca location was on scene to retrieve some items from the new restaurant. (1:27am)
  • A caller reported a suspicious person walking through the parking lot at Avalon Oaks wearing all black. Police responded. Party was placing rent strike notices on the windshields of vehicles in the parking lot. (3:30am)
  • Police notified DPW of a sinkhole forming in the area around a catch basin on Andover Street and Willard Circle. (10:53am)
  • A Marion Street resident was having trees removed from her property and a wire was accidentally taken down in the process. Police notified RMLD. (3:12pm)
  • A caller reported youth males were at the Skate Park, possibly engaging in vandalism. Police responded and advised youths that the park was closed. All vandalism appeared to be pre-existing. Caution tape was replaced. (4:13pm)
  • Jake Stancato (21, Wilmington) was issued a summons for Leaving The Scene Of Property Damage; Speeding; and Marked Lanes Violation. Stancato called 911 and reported he struck a curb, but did not want to give more information. Police received a second call stating a black SUV struck a pole in front of his house on Glen Road. Police responded and confirmed damage to police. Verizon notified. (6:29pm)
  • Jake Stancato (21, Wilmington) was then arrested for OUI Liquor, OUI Drugs, Reckless Operation Of A Motor Vehicle; and Possession Of Open Container Of Alcohol In Motor Vehicle. Police came across Stancato’s vehicle not moving and him sleeping behind the wheel at Middlesex Avenue and Wildwood Street. (10:51pm)
