Wilmington Middle School To Launch “One Book, One Read” Program On April 6

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Middle School is encouraging students to all read the same book beginning next week.

Students are encouraged to read a chapter a day of “Masterminds” by Gordon Korman starting April 6, 2020. Students can join the Google Classroom (fgus25a) to discuss the book with their schoolmates and teachers.

The book is available to download for free digitally via Hoopla, which has both a website and an app. Students can create a free Hoopla account by using their Wilmington Memorial Library card, or by using a Boston Public Library e-card, which they can easily request HERE.

About “Masterminds:”

Eli Frieden has never left Serenity, New Mexico…why would he ever want to? Then one day, he bikes to the edge of the city limits and something so crazy and unexpected happens, it changes everything.

Eli convinces his friends to help him investigate further, and soon it becomes clear that nothing is as it seems in Serenity. The clues mount to reveal a shocking discovery, connecting their ideal crime-free community to some of the greatest criminal masterminds ever known.

The kids realize they can trust no one—least of all their own parents.
