SELECTMEN To Discuss Coronavirus; Postponing Town Meting & Town Election; 40B Proposal & More On March 30

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Board of Selectmen meets this Monday, March 30, 2020 at 7pm. The meeting will take place online and shown live on WCTV (Channel 9 on Comcast and Channel 37 on Verizon) at http://www.wctv.org. There are some noteworthy items on the agenda, including:

  • Selectmen will hear a presentation from Town Counsel regarding a development agreement with Princeton Properties relative to an apartment complex in North Wilmington, across from Elia’s. Selectmen will also consider authorizing its Chairman to the execute the local initiative program application for the project, and executing the Princeton Wilmington Local Initiative Project Memorandum of Agreement between Princeton Development LLC and the Town of Wilmington.
  • Selectmen will hear an update from Town Health Director Shelley Newhouse and Fire Chief Bill Cavanaugh on the town’s COVID-19 response.
  • Selectmen will hear from Town Moderator Roberts Peterson Jr. regarding the postponement of Annual Town Election and Annual Town Meeting.
  • Selectmen will review a letter from the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission regarding sale of alcohol for on-premises consumption.
  • Selectmen will receive a memo from the Town’s IT Director regarding RMLD’s recent ransomware attack.
  • Selectmen will review an agreement between the Metropolitan Area Planning Council and the Town of Wilmington for the disbursement and use of emergency COVID-19 funding.
  • Selectmen will receive a letter from the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission regarding Golden Ginger’s application to obtain a KENO license.
  • Selectmen will consider the request of ROOTS Coalition to hold a road race on May 2, 2021.
  • Selectmen will consider the request of the Veterans Service Director Lou Cimaglia to conduct a Memorial Day Parade on May 25, 2020.
  • Selectmen will consider the renewal of a taxi cab license for Wilmington Taxi and a tax cab operator’s license from Timothy Flynn.
