WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Friday, March 13, 2020:
#1) NO SCHOOL in Wilmington
Wilmington Public Schools remain closed for a second day as the district conducts a deep cleaning of all of its facilities.
#2) Library is OPEN, But NO PROGRAMS
All scheduled programs sponsored by the library have been cancelled through April 10, 2020. Otherwise, the library shall maintain its regular hours of operation. Questions may be directed to 978-658-3967 or you may check their website at www.wilmlibrary.org.
#3) Senior Center is OPEN, But NO PROGRAMS
All regularly scheduled programs have been cancelled through April 10, 2020. The Senior Center will remain open during its regularly scheduled hours for individual consultations. Seniors are encouraged to call the Senior Center and speak with a member of the staff before traveling to the Center. Home delivered meals will continue on their regular schedule. Transportation and wellness visits will continue as scheduled. Questions should be directed to the Senior Center by contacting 978-657-7595. #4) Swearing-In Ceremony For Fire Chief Bill Cavanaugh
Town Manager Jeff Hull recently announced that Fire Chief Bill Cavanaugh will be officially sworn in to his position at a ceremony this Friday, March 13, 2020 at 2pm at Town Hall.
#5) Middlesex County Sobriety Checkpoint
The Massachusetts State Police will be holding a Sobriety Checkpoint in Middlesex County on Friday, March 13, 2020 into Saturday, March 14, 2020. Wilmington is one of the 54 cities and towns in Middlesex County.
