OBITUARY: Leonard A. Gustus, 70

LUNENBURG, MA — Leonard A. Gustus, 70, died Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Apple Valley Center in Ayer after an illness.

He leaves his daughter, Lauren Gustus-Selby and her husband Zach: two grandchildren, Sam and Leo Selby of Sacramento, California; two brothers, William J. Gustus and his wife Laura of Lunenburg, Stephen Gustus and his wife Tracy of Somerville and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Gustus was born in Boston on March 19, 1949 a son of the late Walter and Rita (Fleming) Gustus. He graduated from Wilmington High School and Salem State College with a BA in Education. He was married to Anne Bovitz Gustus of Wilmington for 28 years.

He worked as a teacher for several years in Wilmington; owned and operated several businesses in the food service industry and then was a site manager in Texas for an energy company. In his retirement, he enjoyed running and walking every day.

His funeral services and burial will be private. A memorial service is being planned in Gloucester, Massachusetts for spring.

The Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Mass Avenue in Luneburg has been entrusted with his funeral arrangements.
