POLICE LOG for February 20: OUI Arrest After Crash; Bad Crash At Butters Row Bridge

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Thursday, February 20, 2020:
  • Police came across a vehicle parked in the fire lane in front of Savers. Vehicle belonged to a cleaner working at Savers. (1:35am)
  • Police gave a driver of a verbal warning for illegal window tinting. (7:01am)
  • Animal Control Officer issued a citation to a dog owner for a restraint control violation. Dog was loose from Lake Street and resident refused to retrieve dog. Officer lost sight of dog on Shawsheen Avenue (11:44am)
  • A resident reported illegal dumping on Nichols Street. (1:17pm)
  • A 3-vehicle crash occurred on Salem Street near Shea Concrete. No injuries noted. (3:24pm)
  • A 2-vehicle crash occurred on Butters Row. Both vehicles towed. 1 party transported to hospital. Butters Row street sign and stop sign were knocked over. (3:32pm)
  • David John Shiple (58, Winchester) was arrested for OUI Liquor; Negligent Operation Of A Motor Vehicle; and Possessing An Open Container Of Alcohol In A Motor Vehicle. Shiple was involved in a 3-vehicle crash on Lowell Street and was rushed to the hospital. (7:03pm)
