Below is a press release from the Pina Prinzivalli for Republican State Committee campaign:
ANDOVER, MA — With less than four weeks to go until the March 3 Presidential Primary, Tewksbury Republican Pina Prinzivalli has earned the endorsement of Andover’s Evelyn Curley, her opponent in the upcoming race for Republican State Committee in the Second Essex and Middlesex District.
“I’m grateful and appreciative to have Evelyn’s support,” said Prinzivalli who ran for State Representative in the 19th Middlesex District back in 2018. “Evelyn has been a tremendous grassroots activist and I look forward to working together on campaigns and issues across our district.”
“Pina was a great State Rep candidate and she will be a valuable asset for candidates going forward,” said Curley. “It was an easy decision to get behind her for State Committee and I’m proud to endorse her.”
MassGOP Chairman Jim Lyons also weighed in on the endorsement.
“I endorsed Pina for State Representative in 2018 and I support having Pina serve on the Republican State Committee in 2020,” said Lyons. “Pina’s experience on the campaign trail will help future candidates, as we work to win more seats at the State House.”
The Second Essex and Middlesex District includes Andover, Dracut, Lawrence and Tewksbury. While the endorsement brings an end to the competitive race, both names will still appear on the March 3 Republican Presidential Primary ballot.
“I’m thrilled at the opportunity to work with Pina to help elect more Republicans,” said Brian Genest, Republican State Committeeman from Dracut who is running for re-election unopposed on March 3. “Together with Chairman Jim Lyons, we’re going to grow the party and support candidates up and down the ticket, from President Trump to state and town races. 2020 is shaping up to be a big year and I’m excited to have Pina along side.”
One race Prinzivalli’s early focus is on is for State Rep the 19th Middlesex district with Tewksbury candidate Alec DiFruscia.
“A great candidate for a very winnable seat,” said Prinzivalli. “Alec is running for the same seat I ran for in 2018. I hope to share what I learned and turn it into a victory for him in November.”
Early voting for the Presidential primary begins February 24.
