Wilmington Residents Invited To ‘Mini Golf In The Stacks’ At Tewksbury Library On March 27-29

Below is a press release from the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library:

TEWKSBURY, MA — The Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library’s annual indoor Mini Golf in the Stacks fundraiser is back and bigger than ever for 2020. The library will be transformed into an 18-hole mini-golf course, complete with raffles, a Friday night adult “Tee Off” event and hole-in-one derby, a pizza and ice cream social on Saturday with the Lions Club, and a cookout on Sunday hosted by Tewksbury elected officials.

The 2020 Mini Golf in the Stacks Title Sponsor is CubeSmart Self Storage. We also welcome Gold Sponsor Bayberry at Emerald Court and Silver Sponsors Circle Health, Enterprise Bank, Lowell Five, Reichheld Ting Orthodontics, Salem Five, Tewksbury Country Club, the Tewksbury Democratic Town Committee, Tewksbury Federal Credit Union and Wicked Cheesy.

Sponsorships are still available; find details at https://www.friendstplibrary.org/sponsorship-opportunities.

The family-friendly Mini Golf in the Stacks event is open to everyone, including surrounding communities, and all money raised helps fund the library’s extensive lineup of child, teen and adult programs. The Friends also purchase passes for parks and museums as well as books, DVDs, art supplies and other enrichment materials.

“The mini golf event, and all of the Friends’ fundraising, is essential to the Tewksbury Public Library’s exceptional programming, which ranges from a talk on the most influential rock albums to the Museum of Science’s Portable Planetarium to summer concerts on the lawn,” said Library Trustee Laura Harrington. “Visiting the sensory-friendly Festival of Trees provided my son an opportunity to explore without becoming overwhelmed. These are just a few of the events that would not be possible without the Friends and the generous support of the community.”

New for 2020 is a Friday night kickoff event for adults with refreshments, entertainment and a hole-in-one derby. There will also be an expanded lineup of raffle items and a silent auction.

“We want to thank the generous businesses that have underwritten holes and donated dozens of raffle items,” said Bridget Garabedian, chair of the Mini Golf subcommittee. “We expect about 600 people to pass through the course over the weekend and are excited to welcome additional sponsors in the coming weeks.”

Also new for 2020 is a $75 Friend Sponsorship, for families and individuals who wish to support the tournament. We will include your name and special message in the scorecard program, and you’ll receive a car magnet, shown below, and a one-year individual or family Friends membership. Friend Sponsorships as well as tickets are available online at http://bit.ly/2TBXl34, at the library or by contacting the committee atminigolftpl@gmail.com.
