WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Saturday, January 25, 2020:
#1) WHS Girls Hockey Holds Alzheimer’s Awareness Benefit Game
The Wilmington High School Varsity Girls Hockey Team battles Lexington on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at noon at Ristuccia Arena (190 Main Street). The Wildcats will be wearing special purple uniforms to help raise awareness and raise money towards finding a cure for Alzheimer’s. Fans are encouraged to take part in the bake sale and 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The Wilmington Kitchen food truck will also on site. Help support the girls support a great cause.
#2) Wilmington Methodist Church To Hold Pasta Dinner
The Wilmington Untied Methodist Church (87 Church Street) is holding its Annual Pasta Dinner on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 6pm in its Fellowship Hall.
The menu will include Pasta & Meatballs, Caesar Salad, Fresh-Baked Bread, Beverages, and Dessert.
Tickets cost $5 for children (12 and under) and $10 for adults, with a $30 family cap. See a member of the Committee’s Outreach Committee for tickets. (If you don’t any members, contact the church’s office at 978-658-4519.)
All proceeds from the dinner will benefit the mission work of the church’s Outreach Committee.

#3) Suburban Boston Spring Home Show At Shriners Auditorium
The Suburban Boston Spring Home Show will emanate from Wilmington’s Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road) on Friday, January 24, 2020 (11am-8pm); Saturday, January 25, 2020 (10am-8pm); and Sunday, January 26, 2020 (10am-6pm). Admission is free with advance online registration or $10 at the door. Parking is free.
The show describes itself as follows:

Each of our events includes home improvement and remodeling exhibits with product demonstrations and sample interior and exterior vignettes. #4) Wilmington Youth Center Open
The Wilmington Youth Center, located inside Villanova Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue), is open every Saturday night, from 7pm to 9:30pm, from November 23, 2019 to March 28, 2020.
The Wilmington Youth Center offers a variety of activities, including:
- Board Games
- Jukebox
- Foosball
- Ping Pong
- Billiards
- Video Arcade Room
- Video Games (Game Cube, Playstation II, Wii, X-Box Kinect)
During the season, the Center sponsors several activities, including:
- Dances with DJs
- Craft Nights
- Whiffle Ball Games
Snack items, including pizza, candy and beverages, are available for purchase each week.
A member’s parent is required to chaperon for a minimum of two Saturday nights.
Registrations will be accepted on Saturday nights during the season. Registration costs $40 per child or $80 per family. The registration form can be found HERE.

#5) Registration Session For Shawsheen Tech’s Learn To Swim Program
Shawsheen Tech will be holding registration for their upcoming Spring Learn to Swim Program.
Walk-in sign-ups will be held at the Shawsheen Tech Pool on Saturday, January 25, 2020; Saturday, February 1, 2020; and Saturday, February 8, 2020; from 9:15am and 11am, in the pool hallway. There is NO online registration.

- Lessons run Saturday, February 29, 2020 to April 11, 2020, from 9am to 1pm, with the last class starting at 12:30pm.
- Levels 1-4 (half-hour classes) cost $84.00.
- Level 5 (one-hour classes) costs $168.00.
