WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Saturday, January 18, 2020:

#1) Poetry Circle At Wilmington Library

The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting its monthly Poetry Circle at 9:15am. Do you enjoy writing poetry? Want input on your work? If so, this group is for you. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials in advance. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras. Register HERE.

#2) Dungeons & Dragons At Wilmington Library

The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting a Dungeons & Dragons session for Grades 6-8 at 1:30pm. Interested in finding out more about this fantasy tabletop role-playing game, or looking for a group to play with? Join DM Alex for a campaign! Register HERE.

#3) Teen Volunteer Orientation At Wilmington Library

The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting a Teen Volunteer Orientation at 10am. Whether for meeting your graduation requirement or just because you really love the library, we may have volunteer opportunities for you, including Tech Buddies, Book Buddies, and other monthly opportunities. Earn one hour of community service credit right away for attending the meeting. If possible, please apply online beforehand.Volunteers must attend an orientation session before being accepted into the volunteer program.Grades 9-12. Register HERE.

#4) Wilmington Youth Center Open

The Wilmington Youth Center, located inside Villanova Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue), is open every Saturday night, from 7pm to 9:30pm, from November 23, 2019 to March 28, 2020.

The Wilmington Youth Center offers a variety of activities, including:

  • Board Games
  • Jukebox
  • Foosball
  • Ping Pong
  • Billiards
  • Video Arcade Room
  • Video Games (Game Cube, Playstation II, Wii, X-Box Kinect)

During the season, the Center sponsors several activities, including:

  • Dances with DJs
  • Craft Nights
  • Whiffle Ball Games

Snack items, including pizza, candy and beverages, are available for purchase each week.

A member’s parent is required to chaperon for a minimum of two Saturday nights.

Registrations will be accepted on Saturday nights during the season. Registration costs $40 per child or $80 per family. The registration form can be found HERE.

#5) Book Store Next Door Open

The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. All books are $2 or less!  Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library. Learn more HERE.
