POLICE LOG for January 10: House Fire On Cook Avenue; Car vs. Pole; Rollover Crash

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Friday, January 10, 2020:
  • Police assisted Fire Department with an animal structure that was on fire. (4:35am)
  • Police notified DPW of a hole developing around a storm drain on Middlesex Avenue. (8:49am)
  • Fire Department responded to a chimney fire on Cook Avenue. Woburn Police shut down Main Street at Mountain Road. Animal Control Officer transported a cat to the vet. (9:18am)
  • A Ferbank Road resident reported a man knocked on her door and attempted to open it. Police spoke with man, who worked for Honda and was hand delivering recall notices. (11:19am)
  • A 2-vehicle crash occurred at Ballardvale Street and Avalon Drive. One vehicle crashed into a pole and snapped it. RMLD and Verizon notified. Both vehicles towed. One driver cited for failure to yield. (2:26pm)
  • State Police handled scene of a motor vehicle rollover on 93 South, near the Woburn Line. Fire Department responded. Two entrapped. No injuries noted. (5:24pm)
  • Police responded to reports on an erratic operator on Main Street. Police followed vehicle and did not observe any erratic operation. Driver admitted to being distracted by grandson in backseat. (7:15pm)
