5 Things To Know In Wilmington On Saturday, January 4, 2020

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Saturday, January 4, 2020:

#1) Massachusetts Bridal & Wedding Expo

Know someone who is getting married?  The Massachusetts Bridal & Wedding Expo is coming to Wilmington on Saturday, January 4, 2020, 11am to 5pm, and Sunday, January 5, 2020, 11am to 5pm, at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road).

The event features more than 100 exhibitors, covering all aspects of a wedding — gowns, florists, hair & makeup, honeymoon destinations, wedding and event planners, guest accommodations & hotels, photographers, videographers, DJs, bands, photo booths, decor & lighting, reception & wedding venues, tuxedos, jewelry and more.

The event also includes live music, demonstrations, fashion shows, and giveaways. See the schedule HERE.

Admission costs $10 at the door.  You can, however, register online and receive free admission HERE.  Children under 16 are free. Parking is free.

#2) Wilmington Youth Center Open

The Wilmington Youth Center, located inside Villanova Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue), is open every Saturday night, from 7pm to 9:30pm, from November 23, 2019 to March 28, 2020.

The Wilmington Youth Center offers a variety of activities, including:

  • Board Games
  • Jukebox
  • Foosball
  • Ping Pong
  • Billiards
  • Video Arcade Room
  • Video Games (Game Cube, Playstation II, Wii, X-Box Kinect)

During the season, the Center sponsors several activities, including:

  • Dances with DJs
  • Craft Nights
  • Whiffle Ball Games

Snack items, including pizza, candy and beverages, are available for purchase each week.

A member’s parent is required to chaperon for a minimum of two Saturday nights.

Registrations will be accepted on Saturday nights during the season. Registration costs $40 per child or $80 per family. The registration form can be found HERE.

#3) Fiction Critique Group At Wilmington Library

The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding a meeting of its Fiction Critique Group at 9:15am. Love writing fiction? Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining our Critique Group is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. #4) Drop-In Baby Times At Wilmington Library

The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding a Drop-In Baby Times session at 9:30am. Babies and their caregivers will enjoy this fun storytime that includes rhymes, songs, books, scarves, shakers, bubbles and more. Infants through 24 months.

#5) Stories & Sweets At Wilmington Library

The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is hosting Stories & Sweets at 10:30am. Start your Saturday morning with great stories (and songs and rhymes) and a few sweet treats at this special family storytime. Ages 2-5 and one or more adults.
