Senator Tarr: Wilmington To Receive 10% Increase (An Extra $77,000) In Chapter 90 Funding For Road Repair Projects

Below is an announcement from State Senator Bruce Tarr’s office:

BOSTON, MA — To close out the year, the House and Senate sent to Governor Baker a comprehensive bill which contains important funds to provide direct assistance to our cities and towns for essential roadway repairs and projects. Communities in our area will receive addition funding for road projects in an allocation known (by the chapter of state law) as Chapter 90 Funds.

Wilmington will receive an additional $76,805 in the Chapter 90 funds on top of the $768,000 previously awarded.

State approved funds from this account are allocated using a longstanding formula based on community road miles, population, and employment. These dollars are put to use by your community to maintain public safety, repair local roads and bridges, and keep the economy of the Commonwealth strong.
