Fiction Critique Group *RR

Love writing fiction? Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining our Critique Group is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. When registering, please provide your email address so you can receive an agenda and any prep materials before the meeting. Open to all experience levels writing in all genres. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras.
Lessons from the Blue Zones *RR

This program presents the latest research on the physiology of aging and longevity enhancement by exploring four areas of the world where people live the longest (Blue Zones). Explore the role of genetics in aging and how lifestyle choices affect the expression of our genes. Discover how to create a plan or “roadmap” that will incorporate this important research and protect your most important asset: your health and vitality. This program benefits all ages but is particularly important for folks at mid-life (age 50-75). Presented by Paula Koppel, a registered nurse, geriatric nurse practitioner, and founder of Age Well Be Well. This program is brought to you with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
Living with Coyotes *RR
Wednesday, January 8, 7 pm
Learn the myths and facts about coyotes from John Maguranis, retired United States Army veterinary technician. Upon retirement, John became an Animal Control Officer for Belmont, Massachusetts; he quickly started a campaign to educate the community about why coyotes matter ecologically and how communities can coexist with these important animals.
Inns and Adventures*RR

Dreaming of spring? Discover a peaceful spot for a picnic, a place to take a hike, a cozy inn for a special weekend, or the best place for a kayaking adventure. Alison O’Leary, co-author of Inns & Adventures: a history and explorer’s guide to Vermont, New Hampshire, and the Berkshires, will offer highlights of the book through a multimedia program that features beautiful scenery, fascinating historical tidbits, and plenty of “travel gone wrong” humor. A book signing will follow.

Language Buddies *RR

Language Buddies is a brand new 3-week program pairing WHS World Language Club members with kids in grades 1-3 interested in learning French, Italian, or Spanish! Focusing on one language per session, kids will try out words and phrases through books and activities. Grades 1-3
Library Closed Saturday, January 11
Please note that the library will be closed on Saturday, January 11 for demolition of the front stairwell. This is the beginning of the renovation project that will provided two small rooms, one on the first floor and one on the second floor.
